hi guys! finally, my search for you all dear classmates is here...thanks to menchie alianza-quevedo for the INFO earlier today. KUDOS to you all organizers. Sorry, i'm not able to attend this time, but i'll be thinking of you guys. please post lot of pictures, so we all can see you having fun. anyway, sign me up for the souvenir and the other goodies. my donation will go your way today. syanga pala ako si cely fungo-mibale na ngayon nasa Maryland ako. I know Orly DeCastro is based here too. Regards and Happy Holidays to everybody.  have fun and keep us posted. thanks menchie...

Hi Cely, actually nagpunta kami ni Petronilo "Toots" Arcangel sa  bahay nyo sa Amapola kahapon para alamin ang US address mo dahil magpapadala sana kami ng card to inform and invite you.  Mabuti naman at nasabihan ka na pala ni Menchie (Naka libre pangbayad namin sa post office, he he he. . .)

Nagpunta din kami sa kapit-bahay nating si Gie Balilo at pumayag mother nya na sya na magpapadala ng card.  Nagtungo si Gie with her son sa bahay namin early this year nang magbakasyon sya pero nagkataong out of town ako kaya di kami nagkita.

At may pahabol na pagbati para kay    Dr. Raul Mina na nasa Bagiuo (di pa ba raw na informed?) at kay Dr. Eva Battad (nag confirm na si Eva)

Latest confirmations: Felix Esler, Danny & Fely Martinez,  Willy Mangahas

Nold and Lye will be here in San Diego on the 17th of December and I’ll be sending them $50.00 for the VCD and the shirt and the rest for my donation. I hope you guys have fun and a successful reunion. Happy Holidays to everyone.

Lye Palomo has just informed me that she and her family are arriving here in San Diego on the 17th. So instead of sending my pledge bank to bank, I will just give it to her since the 4-S class is planning to send its pledges and contribution all together. How is your reunion planning coming along? I'm sure everything is in place. I really pray that all of you will have a great time reminiscing our high school days, and am also hoping that everyone's relationship with one another will grow closer. Give my warm regards and best Christmas wishes to everyone who will make it to the reunion. Thank you so much for all your hard work. Take care!!! Here's my latest photo

  • Look at how beautiful Cez is, gosh, flawless even after 25 years and the glow in her eyes convey a happy soul
  • It made me look forward to 2028
  • The year when SJS Batch 78 will celebrate its 50th year anniversary or our Golden Jubilee!
  • We would be retired from work by that time, and God Willing, "Still Alive and Kicking!"
  • Really looking forward to that day!
  • So lets make sure that everyone makes it to that celebration.
  • Get our children and grandchildren be excited to be with us on that special day, they are our future.

Hi all,
it's getting closer and closer to the big reunion day and i'm excited for you guys... i hope you have fun and enjoy reminiscing our high school days... make sure na-isama nyo kami sa kuwentuhan at tawanan...
has any one heard from Greta Gloria, Marinette Obero, Susan (nik-nik) Solano, Helen Espinosa, Van delos Santos, Rolando Reyes, Jaime Javier, Odilon Samala, Prime Macabadbad, Norneta Rico? It will be nice if anyone can give us any info or updates...
Van owns & manage a boutique/parlor along Rizal Ave, O.C. (sori no pict, shy graduate ang nakalagay sa yearbook). She confirmed to attend our reunion this year
Norneta teaches and acts as guidance counselor at our beloved Alma Matter Saint Joseph's School
Ed,

minor correction sa picture na-attached sa message ko posted (message board) dated 11.10.03-- the "betong" I mentioned ay hindi si Tong Estrella, it was ROBERTO ARANDA, 4-R siya, please change the picture, okay? thanks...
ooops!

Lye & Nold,

Nold I remember you asked kung sinong Betong ang na mention ko sa message, it was Roberto Aranda (Betong) and he mentioned na hindi sila makakauwi... We were at Rey (Buto's) place last night ..
malaking handaan- comibination and celebration ng pagtatapos ng anak niyang lalaki (JED) ng year 6 and anak niyang panganay, YACHI graduation ng year 10 and despedida ng Nanay Belen (remember nanay ni Rey?) nag visit for 3 weeks and leaving for the Phils this afternoon. Naiwan ang youngest brother niyang si Odik until March next year. Naiinggit nga kami dahil hindi kami makaka-attend. Paki retoke na lang ang pcitures- medyo papayatin mo ako and papogiin mo si Buto para maganda ang dating sa album (ha!ha!ha!) yung picture ni Rey holding an alcohol bottle...while i was taking that picture ay sinasabi niya "To all, especially PAA-- mag-enjoy kayo diyan-- padalahan mo kami ng pamasahe dito sa Australia" (ha!ha!ha!)
I was told na pupuntang Sydney sila Mila after Xmas and hopefully I can get in touch with her so we can have a mini reunion here....

Rey & Ludy,

Kumusta na.... I sent a Xmas card with my pledge c/ of Nanay Belen- as i mentioned she's leaving Sydney today 6/12/ and mentioned to me na around Dec 12-13 siya pupunta ng Olongapo, so maybe puwedeng paki check ? Rey (Buto) is sending his pledge as well-- mentioned to him na magpadala ng mas mabigat na envelope na maraming dollars (ha!ha!)

I just sent my $50.00 for the reunion. It should be in your account (MayBank Olongapo branch) by Thursday or early Friday. I hope it will be enough and regards to everybody. And one thing more, me and Warren had been conferring and found out that we have the same suggestions. We lost a lot of "memories" of our high school life and that's because we lost our class pictures since first year. Mine was lost due to a big flood that occur in 1998. All my pictures was soaked in flood water. If you won't mind asking some of our classmates if they still have class pictures or any school activities like intrams, C.A.T, that you can scan and send it to us by e-mail or download it in a cd. We would appreciate it very much.

I have one left and its attached to this e-mail. It’s a grade two class picture under miss Abuyan. If you can recognize their faces: Lea Ariston , Reynelia Gonzales, Raul Mina, Rey Maravilla, etc., etc.

Until here and hope to hear from you soon . . .

ed,

are we planning to donate something to sjs- if yes 30 goes to the
pledge and 20 for sjs donation; if not the 20 goes to lye suggestion (prize
for games).

say regard to all our classmates.

  • ExeCom(Dec7): We were in school yesterday to visit and invite Ma'am Ridon, Ms. Tulio, Mr. Segundo, Ms. Ravago and Norneta Rico.  Among other things, our planned donation for the school was discussed.  We were informed that our school will be named Saint Joseph's College starting next year, because of the school's expansion and the need for the new college to be accredited by Commission on Higher Education, many equipment, specially from H.E. were transferred to the college building. In this regard, Mrs. Ridon was suggesting that we donate any of the following:  a 9 cu.ft. refrigerator, a cooking range, or an oven.

One more thing, Mrs. Ridon will retire in 2005.  SJS Alumni, specially starting from batch 1977 when she became the principal to 2003, are planning to hold an alumni homecoming celebration to coincide with her retirement celebration.  This is just an advance info for alumnus now overseas who may wish to join the celebration to make advance vacation planning.

Paul, thanks for following up on my suggestion. I just spoke to Jen Egana and he is in contact with Menchie and they are all for it too. Time zone back home is one day ahead. Two ways we can do this do our mini reunion here tentative dates will be December 20 or 21 at my place if everyone is ok with it. The Olongapo Association Fiesta here is December 27th, dinner dance at Town and Country Hotel in San Diego tickets are 40.00 per person. they will reserve tables for us and we can do the video satellite. (I'm sorry I'm a little bit ignorant in the computer technology.) Let me know, give me feed backs, give me suggestions and I will accommodate anything so we can all see each other. Regards, Carol

Carol Stickles put up a very good suggestion about a reunion kinda thing for us here in the states who will not be able go home and attend the Silver Jubillee reunion. I know we got a good number of people specially here in CALI’ that won’t make it to the real thing, so why not make our own little get together at the same time they’re doing it back home. Baka pwede pa tayong mag video telcon with them guys sa Pinas’ di ba? Let us know if you’re interested…If you have alternative plans post it so everybody can see it…Carol’s invitation sound really super…Jen Egana, Menchie and Lyla Muncal are all for it right?

Hello Ed,
Have you heard from the following:
Agnes Santos-Austria - I know she's based in Angeles, Pampanga. I met with her last year here in San Diego, CA while she was visiting her sister.
Imelda Cabigao - the last time I saw her was in 1998, at the SJS Alumni reunion in San Diego. I'm not sure if she's still in San Francisco, CA.
Josefino Santos also flew from the East Coast to attend the 1998 reunion.
How about Charleen Ragsac, Bokteng Altares, Olivia "Ivy" Aguilar? These were my buddies in high school.
How about Cesar Acera? What ever happened to him?
Last time i saw Agnes was 4months ago in Subic Montesouri (doon nag-aaral anak nya) Si Imee as per Carol ay nasa SF.    Sori di pa nagpaparamdam sina Fino, Charleen, Bokteng, Ivy at Pato.
Boardmates kami nila Pato, Dick at Val noong college sa Intramuros.  Allan's wife Alleth, ay anak ng dati naming landlady.

Hello everyone! It's great to know that the '78 batch is alive and doing well. Even greater is to stumble upon the 25th reunion. Pardon my ignorance but when exactly is the reunion?
I'm currently stationed here at the U.S. Naval Hospital, Rota, Spain with my wife, Es and two kids- Madison (2-year old son) and Arleigh (6-month old daughter). Late bloomer here. I had to finish all my schooling and and stuff:) We're due to return to the D.C. area where my in-laws are in July-August 04 timeframe. It's been a while since I've visited PI- back in '85. I heard all have changed.
'Looking forward to hearing from ya'll!
Much regards,
Arnel, Es, Madison and Arleigh
